This October, Louise and I took a brief break from the daily grind, leaving our campervan behind for a magical weekend at the Wolf Wood Spa Treehouse in Devon to mark our 10th wedding anniversary. The location Perched high in a secluded woodland canopy, this exquisite treehouse provided an unforgettable mix of nature and luxury. The treehouse was an architectural wonder, featuring three interconnected…

The NC500 in a VW T3 Campervan – Part 1 to the start line! Reflecting on our adventures, one of our absolute favourite campervan trips was the North Coast 500, affectionately known as the NC500. Ford Nugget wardrobe shelves DIY
As we await our Custom Ford Nugget, we’ve been looking at enhancements we can add to the van once she arrives. Looking through the Westfalia Genuine Accessories catalogue we wondered if the official wardrobe shelves might be a good purchase for us? The price did seem a little expensive at €50 for a single shelf or €75 for a double shelf set. I asked my Ford dealer if I could purchase them through them, which they advise I couldn’t. So expect to add some international shipping costs from Germany to a Non-EU country to the final amount. A DIY Solution? I then started looking for some less costly storage solutions…
Moving on from our VW T3 Camper
In the middle of 2020 we decided to get a new Campervan, it was a hard decision. Whilst we loved owning a classic VW T3 full of quirky character and the splendors within, we had come to a crossroad. We wanted to travel further and for longer, and I wanted to spend less time worrying about maintenance and more time ambling. The reality is a 33-year vehicle needs a fair amount of attention to reduce any potential issues you might have on a long journey. The reality was we travelled with the tools to get us out of any issues, duct tape for things that shouldn’t move and WD40 for…
The Gallivant Hotel, Camber Sands
Back in Jan 2019, we spent a luxurious few days at The Gallivant Hotel, Camber Sands on the South Coast as a treat before I started a new job. Situated on the other side of the dunes of the magnificent Camber Sands the hotel offered great food & service. We eventually forgave them for forgetting to pack us the package included a bottle of local English wine upon our departure! The room we stayed in was quirky, comfortable, interesting and warm. It was a great few days of relaxing indulgence. It was also the 1st time I took my drone out in anger, and I made a short video to…
